Merry Christmas from Scotland

A very Merry Christmas to everyone from here in Scotland. Can I also thank everyone who has offered advice to questions I have asked over the past year. I often think our interest in old tractors is somewhat strange particularly for people who have no experience of country life but also think it is a great way of making acquaintances and sometime friends from far away places. Since buying my first tractor (International B450) around 23 years ago I have met many interesting people and learner many new skills.
Thanks again for all the help and let us hope 2009 brings us health, happyness and more old tractors to tinker with.
Bill from Scotland.

Merry Christmas to Scotland!

Our daughter, who lives in Washington DC, has a girlfriend whose husband is a citizen of Scotland. Professionally, he's a bodyguard for Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia, so wherever the Prince goes, he goes.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
You were having difficulties with crank pulley on Perkins 1155 V8. How did you sort that?

Merry Christmas from Michigan, unfotunately snow and ice is all we can give you this year. Maybe coal in your stocking is better. Ha, Ha.

Also to your home from ours in Illinois the land of ice, deep snow, and very cold weather. Talking about flooding on Sat? Me and the two dogs are eating Cheez-it crakers at the present. My long haired retriver will get off my bed to fight for her share. Boarder collie layes flat and rolls her eyes up to me for the next craker is a great catcher. Two very good watch dogs. Just ask the post man.

Happy new year and top of the mornin.

Yes the 1155 pulley is now sorted. I got a local engineer to fix it for me. I got him to cut off the belt drive section from the combine pulley and take out the centre section from the original tractor pulley. He then mated the two together and held they both together with three machine screws, very secure and professional job for around $80. Tractor fired up and runs very well. I have just made up a couple of vertical exhaust pipes which makes it sound and look good. I still need to make side panels for just above the engine at each side of the hood but have had difficulty getting sizes for these. I actually bought this tractor from Nebraska a couple of years ago on Ebay with a stuck engine and had it shipped back to Scotland so Iam now very pleased with it. Were you the chap who was doing a similar thing around the same time. I have a couple of other MF V8s as well so just need to get myself a 1130 to complete my collections of large two wheel drive Masseys.

Wasn't me. I remember having a plan to fix but if it did not work the effort to repair the repair was great. My scheme used a taper fit hub over the woodruff key with clamping force. Anyway glad it is mended.

Finally a little relief--50 degrees today and 60s tomorrow. I don"t even care if it is arriving by strong wind. So tired of the January like weather, wimp that I am.
