well now it's a 5/16-18

I tried the weld washer and then nut on and worked it back and forth for about 15 min. and it broke off again so I drilled and installed a heli-coil. This is on the broken exhaust bolt in the aluminum head. it was a M8-1.25 so with 1 oddball bolt it should be easy to tell what is going on in the future. I thought today would be my lucky day when I sat the vice grip pliers on the engine and they slid off and missed my foot but that was the only lucky thing so far

yeah I guess but I knew I could do the heli-coil and wanted it to be the metric but those heli-coil kits are a few more $$$ that I wanted to spend on a metric one when I had the 5/16-18 from when I built my C-6 trans in my truck last year

What was the head from? Been seeing quite a few end exhaust bolts snapped off in the aluminum heads on "LS-1" series Chevy engines around here lately.
