92 Ford F-150 cuts out when bucking snow

My F-150 with an in-line six wants to cut out (starts missing and then lose all elect.)when I start hitting snow drifts. Today it left me sitting in a driveway while hauling mail and after about 10 minutes elect came back but battery was dead enough the starter only clicked. Recieved a jump and once I got out of the snow it ran fine again. The sparkplugs, wires, dist. cap, battery, post terminals, are all new. The alternator is going to be changed out this afternoon. Other than what I've done, what could be causing this? I bought this truck because the engine is one of Fords best, but am starting to have second thoughts. TIA

Is the batter properly secured?

I've seen this EXACT problem happen when the battery moves around and tugs at the group of fusible links coming off of the (+) battery cable or the group of grounds coming to a common point, plugged into a connector on the (-) battery cable.

id just start checking all the electrical conections i plowed snow with a 94, f150, [ modified suspension] it also had the 300 six in it i have plowed snow so deep it came over the plow blade and up on the hood, it never missed a beat, ford should have kept that engine it was the best one they ever made

The battery is secured with a bunge strap and is fairly tight. I will tie it down better before it leaves the shop though. Going to check the ground also as I have it on jack stands for another problem.

Thank You

Check the ECC relay base and the relay itself. When the truck dies turn the key off then on if you don't hear the fuel pump turn on check this relay

Thank You, Of all the positive responces here and at another site yours was something out of what I've already did and makes sence. So will give it a good looking at.

have done 2 of the ECC relays in the last year on the older trucks. One would just cut out going down the road. The base had a bad conection were two wires went into a conection. The other would start when it wanted to. That ECC relay had a set of bad contacts in the relay. Both got replaced with a solid state relay
Good luck

P.S. also check the body grounds. Hitting the snow banks might just flex the frount end enough to break the ground to your ignition modual

I can only find an EEC (electronic engine control) relay not an ECC. Are we talking about the same item or am I looking in the wrong place?
