I'm on a midnight shift (12 hours) with nothing to do except wait on the phone to ring I brought our newest addition "Jack " along to keep me company, but he soaked up a bunch of attention from the day shift folks and is catching up on his beauty sleep now. He did manage to polish off a few corn nuts before nap time though. He's an Australian Sheperd and spoiled rotten.

Hi Dave;
That is a very pretty puppy.
My Australian Shepherd, Bandy, celebrated his 4th birthday last Saturday. He came to me on a snowy morning a little over 2 1/2 years ago. Looked out my window to see a strange dog in the farmyard. He was enjoying the snow and played in the snow from the snowblower. Former owners decided to leave him with me and he has been my constant companion since. Yes, he is spoiled too and demands a lot of attention. He is a red merl with a stub tail... Gene

Thanks... Around knee high and 50 (+/- a couple) pounds. He was 6 wks old in the pic, 12 wks now and in the ugly stage.

I've got a blue merle female and we have a grown up version of Jack. She pops out 8 puppies in every possible color. The red merles are usually the first to go. We've got 5 with Jack. If you want to go anywhere on the tractor or ATV, you have to sneak, else it's a race to see who gets on the vehicle first. I used to get strange looks driving the tractor through town with a dog on each fender and one on the hood. My blue merle is everywhere I am when I'm not at work.

We've got a Mini Blue Merle aussie- name is Lexi. She's almost a year old and she's a spoiled rotten little pooch. Loves going to the farm and goin on long walks.

Truely the perfect girl for any farm boy!!!

It must be a natural thing for them to want to ride. Bandy likes going to tractor shows with me and riding on the 2 seater Case lawn tractor, especially in parades. He is everybody's friend. Likes the back of the pickup around the farm and will ride the hay wagon behind the baler till it starts to get crowded. Likes being around the tractors and combine and will lead the way through the fields... Gene

Beautiful red-tri! We had Aussies for years and had to put our last one down a couple of years ago.

Our first one, (back in the 70's) was a red merle female and she was a companion, baysitter and "fuss-budget" mom to our two youngest sons who were little kids at the time. When they were outside, she was always right there with them. If they even had a thought about starting toward the road, she would get between them and the road and start barking.

Aussies are the best!

That dog (and border collies) are the very finest friends one can have. Almost too smart (until they defend your property W/O being asked) Congratulations. Jim

Friends of ours have 2 Border Collies that are the worst misrepresentation of the breed that you could imagine. Smart, yea, but so damn hyper that they rub off on any other animal around them. These people have bought sheep just to keep the dogs busy, have 3 horses, and a couple of goats and the whole crew is a nervous wreck (people aren't much better). I didn't really know what an Aussie was. When I was younger, my ex Father in law had an English Shepherd that I was crazy about. Dog seemed to know what you was thinking and did it. Several years passed and I was back in the position where a dog would be happy with us and started looking for an English Shepherd again. Nothing to be found in Germany. Saw an ad for Aussies in a local paper, googled them and they were (from appearance) the same dog. Went to chewck out the puppies and fell in love with the adult dogs the folks had. And that's what happened................ These dogs are happy with whatever they are doing. Show the same amount of enthusiasm if the job is seperating horses on the pasture (they think it's a job they should be doing anyway), riding the tractor, or watching TV with the old man.
Tonight's foot warmer is Snooker. 6 months old (younger in the pic) and in her ugly stage, but smart as a whip and tries 200% to do everything right.
