I am having trouble with my 4cyc.Disel Ford, Industrial Backhoe Tractor. The Roosa Master pump is not sending enough fuel to the injectors. When I try to bleed it at the injectors, all that I get is a small droplet of fuel from each line. Is there a way to increase the fuel coming out of the pump? I have torn it down as far as possible, and I'm sure it is clean on the inside. Its a 2200rpm pump that sits up and down on the side of the block. Now im worried if I put it back together correctly. I wasnt having any trouble with it before. Please help if you can, Thanks...

Think you have serious pump problems. Is the metering valve moving freely? ( the valve is under the top cover with three screws) Did you have this problem before you worked on it? Did you take the cam ring out? (the central ring that has small lobes on it)
Best of luck, Diesel Dan O--[o{]

if the pump is electric, your cutoff solenoid could be out. hook up the wire on the top cover and turn on the ignition, if you hear a click, then it's good make sure the cover is grounded when you do this if it's not electric it could be your pumping plungers, shoes, rollers or cam. Sometimes a small bit of trash gets into these components and ruins them immediately. also, remove your metering valve(the small plug with the groove cut in the side) and check for deep scratches. if none put it back in its bore and check for excessive play. that could be your problem There could be a milion things wrong with this pump, but I'm sure its something small from what you're describing. I think your best bet would be to take it down to a shop or injecion speciaist. there are about 129 parts to this pump, and when you put it back together, there are certain tests you have to run on it if you want it to work right.

Diesel Master, I do not have an electric pump. The fuel is gravity feed to the Roosa Master Pump. Its getting fuel to the pump, But not enough to the injectors. I added in a squeeze bulb in front of the pump today and with it pumped up, i notice it had more dropplet coming out of the injector line but not enough to keep the tractor running. Tork

Im pretty sure what Dieselmaster was talking about was an electric solenoid that shuts the fuel off.is your pump key control or do you pull a cable to shut the tractor off.if it is key control the solenoid may be bad.

Cant send you a picture, but am familiar with roosa master to a point.does your backhoe have a supply pump?the supply pump could cause your problem.however under the top cover of the roosa master there is a vane pump,it has a eccentric circle plate that the vanes rub against.if your pump turns clockwise the CC mark should be on top if it turns counterclockwise the C mark should be on top.if this eccentric is in backwards the pump will not work

I went out cranked it over and checked the rotation of the pump. It is correct. No, it does not have a supply pump,it is gravity feed from the fuel tank and it is getting to the pump, its just not coming out of the pump very well. While cranking it over with the longest injector line unkooked, you have to stare at it to see any fluid(about a half a drop to every time the motor turns over 10 times) coming out of the line.It does have some kind of a fuel chamber inside the pump and I thought maybe there was some kind of a way to increase the amount of fuel going out. I just tried to pull start it with the 4 wheel drive and was hoping it would start, but it didnt. Any suggestion???? Tork

is the fuel chamber you spoke of full of fuel, take the fuel return line off and turn the motor over, fuel should pump out.if not, i still think the problem is in the top pump.if you have an electric fuel pump you could put it in before the injection pump i know this has worked on a cva pump.
