Gas prices again

It was 4.099 a gallon here September 14 and on October 3 it is 3.319....I can see the hurricane causing people to panic and run it up, and with the speculators back in July, but it has gone down 78 cents in less than 3 weeks. Maybe the economy was just so bad they figured out they had to lower it? That can't be it though. Anyway, $3 gas here doesn't look impossible anymore. I'm thinking this is really going to tick people off that it went down so much so quick (they'll wonder why it was ever so high like it was). I don't know. I'm confused. I suppose it doesn't matter much anyway because people will have to pay more now for this bailout scam.

Just wanted to add that it was 3.759 here before the hurricane was talked about much, so it is not entirely from all that fuss. Its good to see. Too bad lawn mowing season is almost over...

I got gas last nite in Cedar Falls, IA for $2.899. The price around town was $3.099 and the local Hy-Vee Store was offering a 10 cent per gallon discount for buying something in the store. I also got 2 additional 5 cent per gallon discounts for buying something at the deli and meat counter. I hadn't planned on buying gas but a 20 cent per gallon discount got my attention. I would still like to see it go below $1.999.

Our prices didn't go up a penny during Ike's tour through Texas. Price dropped $.20 yesterday to $3.53.

NE IL seven county area still skinning the gas buyers at 3.85 with the inter city gas close to 4.50.

Yes I got a 20 cent per gallon discount. I don't know if they were selling it below cost or not. Normally the discount runs anywhere between 4 cents per gallon to 15 cents per gallon and changes daily. Normally Hy Vee's price before the discount is higher than the rest of the stations in town so the discount doesn't really make much difference. It was different yesterday.

I was on a business trip early this week. Along the Ohio River the Price was 3.87-3.89. Get 35 miles north of the river 3.59. Get toward south side of Columbus 3.42. Subbed at school yesterday and it dropped from 3.39 to 3.29 when I left to come home.

40 miles north of Atlanta, $3.99 gallon. Most stations only have regular grade but it is getting better thanks to Quik Trip stations. They manage to keep some on hand. It has created a shortage of those plastic bags that they put over the pump handles to show they are empty.

I dont pay too much attention to gas anymore, except when the treactors or mower need it. Been getting diesel for 3.90 a gallon at a local station, but he ran out yesterday, should be filled back up again by the time I need more, said it will go down probably .20 based on what the delivery driver told him last week. But with winter coming, the Northerners will panic and fill their tanks and run the price back up again.
