Recently bought this car...unfortunately, it didnt have an owners manual with it. I ordered one, but they say it"s on backorder. Does anyone know the procedure for getting the "change engine oil" light out?

turn key to "on", push gas pedal 3 times in 5 seconds, then turn off once oil light flashes?
works on most GMs

i had an 01 and reset button was in the fuse panel located on drivers side dash on the side...hope that helps...on my old buick the reset is broken and a piece of black electrical tape over the light works perfect

this is from the gm service manual:

To reset the Engine Oil Life System, do the following:

Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
Slowly fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
The reset is complete when the chimes sound and the CHANGE OIL lamp goes out. If the lamp stays on and no chime is heard, repeat the reset procedure.

Turn the key to OFF.
If the CHANGE OIL lamp comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

If it has a 3.4 motor have it checked for anti freeze leaks. Very common on 100 grand motors.
