OT: need opinions on purchased DVDs

3 weeks ago my wife and I ordered 2 sets of dvds from a website called tvdvdstore.net. The DVD sets came in from China 7-10 days ago. The 1 complete dvd collection is actually some idiot taping the series off the TV 20 years ago in the Baltimore area, there are broken up pieces of commericials in the episodes.....I am really *issed. There are broken commericials of new 1989 Pontiac Bonneville and TV shows that aired in the late 80's. The quality of the Dvds themselves is terrible and I really want to call law enforcement on these people. I paid $90 for this dvd collection. (over 100 episodes)

What do you guys think I should do? I am tempted to have my wife stop payment through Visa.
What ever you do dont buy a *amn thing from tvdvdstore.net.
 
To be honest I could do a better job copying these episodes then these people, Sickening to say the least.
 
Call the CC company and tell them what happened and that you would like to stop payment. Let them fight it out with those jerks.
 
Thats the one bad thing about the internet. 1 clown living in his parent's basement can have a "business" on the internet that appears ligitimate and trustworthy because he hires a good web designer to build a website. I just got a $60 switch for a derwalt drill on a tool website. They took the switch threw it in a box and shipped it. No packing materials in the box.
 
Some lowlife sat around with a camera and recorded 100 hours of TV for less per hour then he coulda made walking around and picking up change on the street????

I bought a CD from wally world, with things like hank and alan, etc, etc. Get it home and put it in and this is what sounds like a tape recording of people singing karokey (sp). IT sucked!! The music wasnt even right and the people were horrible. Adding insult to injury, there was a mutalated IH on the front (some puller). I was mad... Damn glad the thing was only like $4. I coulda bought a gallon of gas and thrown it on the fire for a cheap thrill for that :-D
 
Cancel payment and mail it back and tell them to keep their junk.

I couldnt cancel payment, but a few weeks back i bought pair of vise grips from yuppie supply and they broke like the second time i used them. Store wouldnt take them back, so i mailed them to TSC headquarters and told them to keep their junk. Shipping was a well spent $10.
 
You only buy off of big well-known websites. You do not go to other lesser-known sites to buy DVDs or anything. Just think, the guy that sold you this stuff probably makes his own porn.
 
I would imagine that there is an anti-piracy group that would bust this scammer, IF, they can ever find his actual location. I noticed that the DVD's were shipped from China..

The Music industry, RIAA, sends so-called agents out to flea markets, to meet with real cops, and sieze, arrest, etc, anyone selling bootleg music.

A crook is much safer commiting real crimes, than he/she is selling bootleg music or movies.. One guy that was arrested at the flea is looking at 20 years in the pen, I was told..
 
Use a credit card, save everything, file for a refund, and follow up. If they sell on the net they use some type of plastic money, and you'll get it back.
 
Next they will use your card to buy something for themselves at another site. I've had it happen and the wife, who works at the bank, caught the unauthorized charge next day. Be careful which sites you use your card.
 
Of course get Visa to refund your money. My wife did a similar purchase through the same company. She never did get the tapes. They were held at customs as illegal imports. Needless to say we did notifiy the credit card company and the transaction was challenged. We did get the money back. The tapes are still at customs. She also wrote to the company and ebay. She wrote ebay not because she bought them through ebay, but found the link through ebay. Ebay did not reply so we are not sure what happened. She will only buy at Amazon.com. Lesson learned
