hi
i have a jd500 backhoe brand new (1970)

4 cyl. diesel with powershift transmition

problem: intermitant lose of power steering and front loader.
problem as never affected the rear backhoe
everything else work fine,sometime it just goes away
never hapend when it was cold ,always when 2 hours of good work

I think you have problem with your pressure control valve under the hood..This valve makes steering and loader work at the same time.. Then when you work backhoe ,diverts oil so no steering and loader..I used to have boss's from Canada..They are Yves and Laurier Paquet...Best people I ever worked for...
