Battery Recommendation for oli 1750 Diesel

I am going to take care of that 1750 deal I made a while back. What I am wondering is, what is the best battery combination for them. I am in central MN and will be depending on this tractor to start in the winter. It has 100 hours on a rebuild, but she needs batteries and I am going to buy them, the ones it has now are stone dead. Current owner says it needs (2) BIG 6 volts. Ok what is big enough 1000 cca? I thought I had seen where the 1750 diesel had (2) 12 volts. Which is better, what should I buy for batteries? I want to make the buy this week. Only $3500, I cant let it go any longer or some one else will get it. He's been holding her for me for 7 months.

I would do what ever it takes to get the most cold cranking amps (CCA) as possible, with the amount of space given. either two 6 volt batteries hooked in series, or one twelve volt (not recomended for winter starting) or two 12 volt batteries hooked in parrell. also i would check the batterie cables, if they have corrosion on them replace them, or if they are smaller than two ought cables, replace them. also clean all batterie terminials before making connections.

Your closest dealer is probably Dick Frieler at Lake Henry Implement- 320-243-7411. He'd be glad to tell you what fits. Check his website.

we have a 1755, just replaced the battreys after 6 years, everyone said that was very good. they where DEKA batterys, very well respecited around here (PA) our 1755 had 2 12 volts in it , cost was around 90.00 each, DEKA is made in USA, don,t see that much anymore!!!
