BKT tires...

Anybody running those BKT tires? They're an Indian tire; they look relatively well made and I have seen them on show tractors.

If they're better or close to some Titan tires, they might be worth taking a look at as I can get new 15.5-38s for 340 apiece.
BKT TIRES

Why would anyone want to put foreign made tires on an American made show tractor? A person has already spent thousands of dollars on the tractor why would they try to save a few bucks on imported tires. I've seen it myself and just scratch my head and go on.

Some people do not have the $1100.00 plus tubes to buy a set of Firestone or Titan tires. Then again, half the stuff that you buy "thinking" it is made in the US, is made in God know where. If you own a vehicle newer than the 70s or 80s, good chance most of the parts on it are not made in the USA!

actually... there was a gentleman on eBay who was selling these for this price but I do not see the listing at this time..

I usually get my tires from Landover Farms in Pleasant Grove, MD.

I may ask them if they can get these BKT tires...

Most of the tires you see on restored show tractors don't really match up to the originals, so what difference does it make if all they do is roll around??

Oh wow, have you noticed many expo tractors use 23 degree tread tires instead of the correct 45 degree tires for the era?

Good golly, talk about being ANA L.

Evidently you do care...as long as somebody else is footing the bill. How many new USA made tractor tires have you bought recently?

Seems folks are always ready to harp about using USA materials, as long as they are not subsidizing the cost. In many instances, if the replacement parts didn't come from abroad, there simply wouldn't be any to be had.

So, as Strother Martin said in Cool Hand Luke, "Now, I don't like this anymore than you men do...."

another classic luke line:

Captain, Road Prison 36: You gonna get used to wearin' them chains afer a while, Luke. Don't you never stop listenin' to them clinking. 'Cause they gonna remind you of what I been saying. For your own good.

Luke: Wish you'd stop bein' so good to me, cap'n.

Oh poo... forget this crap.

And i'm not a Yank. My family was born in Virginia, near tennessee... deep roots have always been in virginia...

How many hard boiled eggs did Luke eat? Was it 50? Wholly Crap!!

One of the truly classic movies!!

Steve McQueen in Bullet and Dirty Harry,Crazy Mary are right up there too!!

"I could care less."

How much less?

Some of the imported tires look more like the originals than anything domestic. Also, just because the tire has a domestic name on them doesn"t mean they are manufactured here either. I know Continental makes an old school 45 degree bar tire in a 16.9 x 38 but I"ll be damned if I can find anyone else that does so I"ll wind up buy them when I get the cash saved up. I"m just a yank though so reality may be different in the land of dixie.

I went into the tire shop today looking for tires for my H Farmall. I had two requirements. It had to be an original brand name (Firestone, B. F. Goodrich, Goodyear, etc.)and it had to be manufactured in America.

I am not a rabid purist, but I just dont want my H having Yokahama tires on the front!!!!

You see, my grandfather bought it new in 1944, and at that time we were at war with the little yellow men of Nippon and I dont want my grandfather rolling around in his grave.
