The $250 Fergy

Well, whoever said to raise one of the back wheels up and bang it back and forth to break the engine loose has to be luckier then I am. I couldn't even make it move after it was broken loose that way. The way I had to do it was to put a 1 3/8" wrench on the hex nut on the crankshaft pulley after removing the head and banging on the center two pistons about 20 licks each. It wasn't real rusty in the sleeves and a deglazing hone got it shined up to where I think I'll just ring and rod bearing it and button it up. The head/valves look good and real clean. It may be a bargain after all. ohfred

OK, but you are now going to have to post a few pictures of the tractor, the cylinders, the rod bearings, and the owner.

Yep thats why I always tell people to set a 12 volt battery in and use the starter with fast short taps on it. Trying to spin one over with the back tire is like trying to push the same tractor up a hill by your self. The starter will put out a lot more torque then you ever will but its also made to do that and will not brake parts because again it was made just to turn over an engine. Yes if you have stuck valves it can/will bend push rods but it does not have enough torque to brake the rods piston that is

We'll see about the pics and there may be a dispute over the ownership as the girlfriend and I are getting married sometime in the near future and she sure likes the TO-20. She'll probably stake a claim on the TO-30.
Theres a clause in the marriage though, she recently got saved and wants me to follow suit....and after 67 years of heathenism (new word?) it may take a little adjusting of my ways...grin. ohfred
