I need help.. my grass is now out of control and I dont know what I can do. I have a Cub Cadet 128. Was working fine last week, this week I go to start it, turn on the blade and the blade is not turning. The belt is on, I did check that it's not moving but its not broke either. The blades just do not go on. Any suggestions??? Please

You probably have an electric clutch on your unit that engages the belts. Could be your switch is bad or the clutch needs adjusting. If you have a volt meter you can unplug the plug going to the electric clutch, turn on the switch and see if you have 12 vdc accross the two terminals. One is ground one is +12. If you have voltage there then the clutch is bad or needs adjusting.

I believe a 128 still has a mechanical clutch. You can check the release arm thats right in front of the engine pulley to see if it has a gap between the center and the arm when the blades are engaged. If the gap is there and you have no blades spinning, or they stop as soon as you get into tall grass, it's time for a rebuild on the clutch. The kit from Cub Cadet is readily available around $50. Check out ihcubcadetdotcom. You'll find lots of CC info there. Look in their FAQ section to find out all you need to know to repair your clutch, and places you can get a repair manual for it too.
