7.3 water pump. stop leak HELP!

I"ve got a 94" powerstroker with a badly leaking water pump.. and I need to/HAVE to make a 2 hour drive in a few hours.. I need a way to get this leak to stop at least for the rest of the day.. any ideas? thanks1

Just keep filling it up.

There is no way you're gonna stop a water pump leak.

then I'm pretty much SOL.. I'd be stoping every 2 miles with the way its leaking..

I remember years ago I was heading up the coast with 67 Chevy pickup got a few miles up the coast and the and the water pump did a nose dive. I pulled into an auto parts bought one and put it on in the parking lot. Was on way in less than an hour.

Take it in and get it fixed and be on your way.

PS just put one a Case 485 O tractor yesterday, its the only fix for a water pump.

Often loosening the radiator cap so that no pressure builds in the system will help. Consider that to be just temporary.

I have to leave in like 3 hours.. and cahnging the water pump on this beast is going to take prolly twice that.. :0(

Rent/borrow a truck or cancel the trip.Overheating that 7.3 can cause some very expensive engine problems.
