I understand you can incubate turkey eggs with no humidity. Mine is running 70%. When I open up the eggs after full run the dead ones appear to have made it to day 22.Would like to know how others are getting good results. The same happened to me last year Thanks for any help

Have you checked your thermometer to make sure it is accurate? If the temp. gets off any little bit it can cause serious problems. When I was in college, I had a job candling turkey eggs at different stages on one of the research farms. The eggs getting to that point and dying would suggest a temp. spike or sudden drop.

We used to incubate turkey and chicken eggs.. I believe turkey like a degree or two warmer.. but we always used some water in the humidifier tray...

On the day that they are supposed to hatch, lightly crack the egg. Not too much though, the turkey having to push its way out builds their leg muscles so they can walk. I have done this with good results becasue sometimes the eggs are really thick depending on the hen"s diet.

Here is a link to a hatching problems guide co-written by the professor that taught me Incubation and Hatchery Management while I was a Poultry Science student at NCSU. Both of the guys that wrote this are very knowledgeable in the field. Maybe it will help.

When I broke the egg open the chick was fully developed and very wet, this 4 days past the hatching date. Thanks to every one so far Pat

Too warm will make them develop too fast.
Just as an 1/2 educated guess from a distance. Too warm and maybe too moist. Another 6 days of development would dry them out some so the temp is the primary concern.
Hard to believe how difficult it is to be as good as a turkeys backside.
