Well, here I sit. Buddies feilds are too wet to till or plant, it's raining, didnt feel like building fence in the rain. Most the eggs are picked for the day. I come in to dry off, made a few eggs and sat in front of the TV for a spell, havent done that in weeks, any way, Jerry Springer was on for a few minutes, all I can say is what the heck are some of our citizens thinking. Then there was Maury, or something like that, sad, Watched Montel W for a few, had a good story on there. Montel is over, nothing else on worth diddly. So I am gonna go find something outside in the barn to do, that probably doesnt need to be done. Wish my shop was ready! I could fix the lights on the 544, prep the NH 310 for paint, rebuild the dogs in the hay rake, work on my 1/2 tons transmission or one of many other things. Argh!!! What is it gonna cost me to cement out a 36'x48' shed with a 8'x36' apron in the front?????

At 4" thick, concrete is going to be 25 cubic yards worth + a little extra for waste and error, add reinforcing, formwork, labor to place and finish etc.

If concrete is $100/cubic yard = $2500.00 concrete alone.

Just did 5 yards last fall here in Southern Tier of NY, cost was $90/yd.
It's expensive, BUT Well worth it to have a dry place inside to work on stuff. I put it off for 20 years cause it was "too expensive" back when it was $35/yd. All I can say now is "boy that was stupid" Now I wish I had done it back then when I think of all those times laying in the dirt to fix something.

Here's a handy web site for calculating cubic yards of concrete. Hal

www,concrete.com/calculatorsmaterials.htm

PS: Billy is right on it.

I repoured 30 yards in my shop about 5 years ago due to a flood. It cost a lot but it is the best thing thing I have ever done. Now I keep it clean and organized. Very easy to clean now. I probably spend twice as much time in the shop now , Its nice to have a nice clean place to work on stuff.

Dave - You know best your needs. But I would think an 8' wide apron would just about be useless. I would prefer at least 12' wide - maybe 16'. Just a suggestion. bob f.
