Hi, I was wondering if there are any tractors used domestically that use this particular engine. Looking for a winter project, and we've got a few of these engines laying around (spares because we buy massey combines for parts) and it'd be nice to have a tractor that uses this engine. Seems at 120HP, it'd be a pretty good sized tractor. I just think that if some old tractor used this, then maybe if I look around I can find a matching tractor chassis that can be had from a salvage yard for a reasonable price, and we can breathe life back into it...
Thanks!

Dan,

We could use a 6-354 (for our shrimp boat) the turbo version (about 160 HP). I could rebuild it down here. Only problem is that funds are low due to Ivan, Dennis & Katrina expenses.

A good weekend to all.

What are the possibilities of doing a transplant into an older pick-up truck or maybe into an older non-diesel tractor?

I have a 1976 F-250 Ford that I put a 6-354 in, with a 5 speed clark trans, and 3spd aux.It worked good and was going to rebuild it, and I bought a new 1000 series perkins and replaced it. It is 200 hp turbocharged and aftercooled, (air to air), It does good and gets about 14 mpg when I am not pulling 27ft gooseneck.Have had this motor in for about 6 years now. you can go to Case38man photos, and look for tractor haulers if you would to see it Jack

Most 90 to 125hp Massey tractors(too many to list)built between 1964 and 1992 had the Perkins 354. There are 3 different series during that period but I have had little trouble adapting between series and tractor.

A lot of Massey Ferguson's use that engine. 1100, 1105, 1130, 1135, 2705,All are good tractors. Also some White tractors 2-105, and some others I don't know the numbers.
Some MF combines also had that engine, going back to the 510, then the 750 and some others. It is a real popular engine used in construction equipment and even some marine applications.
