I have a 1980{?} Hines H-1600 tractor, recently repowered with a Kohler 14hp. I also have mid and rear disc harrows and cultivators, mid shovel blade and 5ft mower, and rear plow implements.

I also have the owners manual and parts catalog.
While they are not totally comprehensive, they do have great linkage adjustment instructions and good exploded views.

I am interested in hearing from owners who have questions or wish to sell or trade H-1600 tractors, implements, or parts. i am willing to share what info I have.

I got my Hines from the original owner, who lost track of the motor after it failed. He said folks had come by wanting to buy the tractor, but he didn't want to sell. When he heard of my plans for the tractor, maintaining the public motorcycle trail system in the Francis Marion Forest in S.C., he most graciously donated the tractor to me and my club,Family Riders {www.familyriders.org}

After about 6 months of leisure restoration, it is fully operational, needing only paint. I have had it out on the trails and am very happy with its performance.

I look forward to hearing from other owners, and will soon post a picture on this site.

I am looking for implements or parts tractors to complete a restoration. I would also like to see a H-1600 restored up close so that i could answer some restoration questions I have. I live in charleston sc. is there anyone with an H-1600 near me?

I have a Hines 1600 that is used only to mow. That is it was until the motor gave up the ghost. All it does now is just spin. I am trying to decide if it is going to be easy to replace or rebuild the Kohler engine that is on it. Or replace the tractor with something else. The added thought to this is that the mowing deck is very rusted and about to fall apaart as well. Your thoughts and suggestions are welcome. I really like the Hines and I hate to see it go but I need to do what is cost effective.

Hines H-1600 was made by Hines Equipment in Rocky Mount, N.C. The company is still in business but focuses on TURF management equipment....They still assist customers with parts and instructions on the H-1600...Craig Hines is the contact Source

My grandpa purchased a hines 1600 in hopes of restoring it. Do you have any information that would help? He is looking for a manual or parts booklet. Or just a push in the right direction to get this info.
