Would be reasonable to pay for a 35 year old Case 580 Super E Loader-backhoe. The tires are 50%, seems pretty tight, needs one brake serviced.. Has about 3000 hours on the clock. Hydraulic hoses seem OK,no real noticible oil leaks. It is 2WD with Extendahoe. Paint is faded but not really rusty. Any thoughts. TIA Sam Womer (PA)

Is it already priced? or are you going to make a 'cold offer'?Without seeing or knowing condition it is impossible to say value.

Junk at the area auction yard is 3,500-5,000 dollars. You can always count on doing more repairs on a new to you hoe than what your eyeballs or previous owner tells you.

Last time I checked on brake parts for my brothers 580K they were a1000.00 per wheel so think about that for a minute. then his the hoses must be some odd sized thing since regular 1/2 inch is smaller and 3/4 is bigger. Must be a 5/8or metric junk. The pins wear and that bolt that goes through the pin in the middle breaks so we just put a bit smaller bolt in so the pin wear would not break the bolt. Around here on auction most hoes if they run go for ungodly prices and if they are or look as good as you describe add another 5-10,000 to that. I've been watching for a bout 3 years now. I'm leaning towards one of those bigger mini excavators will dig deeper and probably faster. Just don't see them for reasonable either.
