I got a quote for hd cylinders for $1200 each. Does anyone know if there is a compatible hd cylinder for fewer Bucks?
Thanks
Max

Many loaders use proprietary cylinders (designed for the loader) not off the shelf ones, so it is hard to match one of a pair of cylinders. At a minimum to look for a cylinder, you need to have the bore, stroke, rod diameter, end connections, closed length, open length, and porting for hoses. Cylinders that are close might be able to be modified to make some things match. while using a slightly different cylinder may work a different bore or stroke can put twisting forces on the loader frame.

Is your cylinder unable to be rebuilt? Some shops can replace barrels, rods and other components of badly damaged cylinders. Giving your general location might lead to a suggestion of places to check in your general area.

Hello Max welcome to YT! Not sure how familiar you
are with posting on a forum but just a helpful hint. You
have to remember that you are the only one standing
there looking at it and you are the only one that can
see it says Bush Hog on the side, the rest of us do not
know that so you need to tell us that. I did a web
search to find that out. I looked up a cylinder for your
loader not even sure if it is the main frame cylinder or
the bucket cylinder. The company I went through
priced it at $1050 with no shipping added. So it looks
like the number you got is in the ballpark. Are your
cylinders dented or are the rams bent or badly scored
or rusted? If not and if they are not broke in some
other way they can probably be resealed if leaking is
the problem. This would be much cheaper than
replacing them.

Taking to an individual who will rebuild for $200 each cylinder.

Thanks for the follow up, glad you found someone to do it. That sounds like a fair price for a shop to do it.

That's downright cheap. The shops I've checked with want $200 to look at a cylinder. Parts and labor to reassemble extra.
