Same here. Orscheln said their first shipment of chicks lasted only 4 hours. If people think eggs are too high priced, wait till they try keeping a few backyard chickens - especially if they don't know what they are doing! And if people think backyard chickens are expensive, wait till they try keeping the other kind of chicks - especially if they don't know what they are doing!

Opposite here in MN, probably 300 chicks between 2 stores available this a.m. Nothing available with webbed feet. People are trying to sell adult hen ducks $25-35 each on Craigslist.

Reminds me of the new farmer from the city who wanted to raise chickens. He bought 1000 chicks. They all died. He bought another 1000 chicks. They all died. When he tried to buy another 1000 chicks, the farm store clerk asked him why he thought his chicks were dying. He said he was not sure if he was burying them upside down or too deep.
