WD45 first step.

Pulled the Allis over close to the shop then pushed it by hand to the garage door but even with the CFOs help couldnt get it up over the little hump at the door. Will get the skid steer out tomorrow and push it in. Then get it running.

i see u got the belt pully with it. they just pull out. i actually have mine here yet, from when i donated mine. they are kinda a neat little tractor with lots of power. think its 20 percent more than the straight wd. and its in very nice shape. it will pretty much pull what that 720 pulls. looks like it might have had a blade on it at one time.

Hi rustred. It does have the belt pulley however there is a few chunks broken out of it. The two WD45 tractors that I got last week came with two front end loaders and two sickle mowers one bush hog mower and a three bottom plow. So yes they have both had attachments on them. I will be taking all that stuff off as I wont be using the front end loaders. It will be in the garage tomorrow to get worked on.

Looks like a nice straight tractor ! Never ran one but always heard there were pretty gutsy for their size.

Hi 300jk. It is a pretty nice tractor. Rear fenders have a bit of damage and a few small cracks but they arent to bad. When I get it running good Im going to put it on a dyno and check it out.

Hi Bruce. Thats a really nice looking vintage baler. Narrow front tractors are pretty scarce here on the prairies but they do look good. Id really like to find a mounted cultivator for this 45. I could use that here.

My two uncles farmed in South Saskatchewan during the 50s and 60s. They had a AC baler too, and a AC bale loader that mounted on the tractor, and picked up the bales from the ground, and ran them up an elevator on to the wagon

Years ago I used one of those behind the B I had and it did just fine but I sure did hate the pain in the back side of the way those things worked and baled hay

Looks like a Massey Harris 20 or 22 lurking in the vicinity (maybe an 81 or 82) .... with an interesting drawbar setup of some kind.

What Gene said is why I would never own one. My body even when I was young, 60 years ago would never have left me operate one. And they need 2 extra speeds in that transmision,

The A frames on the one are for a Freeman loader #9, made for AC. The manual for the loader says not to have the belt pulley in with the loader on as it will interfere with the loader cylinder. To remove the belt pulley you remove the set screw above it and in from the frame a few inches. But you need the tractor on a good slant or partially drain the hydraulic system or you will get wet. With the hand clutch they will be a good tractor for the roto baler as it gives you live PTO power. As to operator comfort, they aren't as bad as some say. For one with the hand clutch available you can stop the tractor without needing a foot so the left foot can be swung down onto the rear step for comfort. And it is possible to lean on the right fender.

Nice baler! I'm 30 miles from West Allis, so lots of old narrow front and wide front Allis's around here. the eastern part of my county was a prime Allis testing grounds... I'm told the 1st tractor on rubber tires was tested in our county, an Allis U.

Used to be plenty of WD and WD45 tractors around here. Although a lower cost option versus JD or IH AC gave those two a run for their money in terms of market share. There were some very strong AC dealers around.

Hi 4wdtom. The loader was not on the tractor when I picked them up. That would explain the couple of chunks broke out of the pulley. Unless I find a mounted cultivator for it this tractor will probably just be used for tractor rides and a few vintage tractor pulls in Alberta.

Hi Crazy Horse. It is a Massey Harris 20. The draw bar was modified that way for a semi mounted sickle mower that I took off when I got the tractor. A good running little tractor that a cousin of mine owned since new. I guess Im the second owner. Needs new wheels. They are rusted out.

A WD or WD-45 are not the best tractor cruise tractors, even the JD B's will eventually pass you. If you put some 12.4x42 rear tires on them that would help, but the FARMALL'S will still run away and hide.

Not sure what Dad was doing with it but he had a 2-row cultivator for an Allis WD or WD-45. Neighbor had all orange tractors before he went green, WD, WD45, D-17, D-19, then bought a 630 Deere to semi-retire the WD-45, and the D-19 was traded for the first side console 4020 our local dealer got in. I ran his WD-45 & D17 & D19 on the baler quite a bit, never ran his 630 which I had NO desire to run, and He ABSOLUTELY had to have me come over and chop cornstalks on the fields he had picked the endrows off of, with his new 4020.

The gentleman that I got the tractors from have both loaders, two sickle mowers, a three bottom mounted plow and a bush hog mower. I will have all of it home when the snow is gone and they are not frozen to the ground. Thanks 4wdtom.
