I have a Ferguson to-30 that was sitting outside for about 20-25 years. I was going to remove the spark-plugs, three come out with no problem. The fouth plug had a different idea, would not budge with a 3/8 breaker bar, so I get 1/2 dr breaker and the plug breakes at the threads.
What is my next step to the problem? Heat the threads before trying an easy out or not.

If there is any of the threads sticking out, try tapping in toward the center with a center punch. Might allow penetrating oil to seep around the threads.

Heat the remains of the sparkplug red hot and allow to fully cool, then repeat a couple more times.

Then try removing it when COOL.

Will likely come out easily.

Don't put your face or other body parts over the hole when heating, if there's any remaining gas fumes in the cylinder they may light off with a POP, blowing rust and carbon out the sparkplug hole.

(Probably NOT an issue if it's been sitting for years, tho.)

bet that was not a champion plug. i had the same thing happen. it was an autolite plug. they have less meat at the threads. i did get it out with an easy out though. pretty sure i heated it up with one of them little propane burners.

I had a flathead with the plugs rusted off from water sitting around them. Heated them and melted paraffin/wax into threads, then used east-out. Got them all out.

then they were really reallt tight. cut both different plugs off above the threads and you will see. the autolite would have broke way easier.

Thanks Guys, I got it out. Heated it up four times, let it cool till I could touch it, used a #5 easy-out.The plug was a Coop brand, never heard of it,

I'm glad to hear you got it out. The next time you can't break a spark plug free with a 3/8 drive ratchet, light up the torch BEFORE you use your big breaker bar.

Glad you got the plug out, that s always nice when it happens. I broke one off one time Don't remember the brand. As I remember that was the only plug I broke off. The plug was in a WW2 ford flat head 6 Burma Jeep, that belonged to my Dad. Years ago. Stan

no matter the plug brand, when replacing them use PERMATEX SILVER ANTI SIESE GREASE. that stands up to heat the rest isnt as good.

well then thats no big deal, it happens all the time. that was due to not having the socket straight. its when it breaks off flush in the head is the big deal.
