Leaking injector pump fix?

I have a JD2520 row crop thats leaking fuel from the throttle rod. Ive went to the local deere dealer, they dont show any parts breakdown or seal kit for that old of a tractor. Does anyone know where I could find a seal kit or whats the best way to fix it?

I'll bet Dieseltech either has the part you need or knows where you can get it, just ask him on here and he'll get back with you'

If it's the common Stanadyne pump (not the little one) it's easy to replace the seal/o-ring on the shaft. Pull the cover, then a clip, and shaft pulls out. I did exactly that after the guy at the local diesel shop showed me how and gave me the parts. He warned me that maybe the shaft was worn. It wasn't, but this was on a combine that didn't see the throttle use that a tractor gets.

The WISE thing is to have the complete pump repaired. Ill bet theres more trouble ahead, the shaft leak is a warning. Theres a good chance the weight retainer is failing which causes leaks first to show up. When the retainer pins shear off, the hydraulic head WILL seize and the drive shaft WILL break too. Its why I wont do patch jobs anymore.

Just looked up the parts myself, they were to lazy to look for you. I would go back another day and ask a different one to look it up and point it out to the idiot. I usually look parts up at home then go to the dealer just to see if they can find what I want and usually show them where to look. They wont forget that.

I think you may be talking about the CBC(Charlie Brown) pump. Not many shops will even look at them anymore.Hard parts are impossible to find. Delphi does carry a soft seal kit for it, but the last one I ordered was like almost 200 clams after shipping. I have been able to borrow seals and o rings from other kits to get the job done on the last dozen or so I have repaired. If you do have the CBC pump dont take a chance on it yourself unless you have experience with these pumps. One mistake can cost a ton. I started collecting these old girls years ago so I have spare parts, thats how I am able to make repairs. When I run out of good used parts I will only be able to dry up leakers. Al

It is the small CBC pump, that seems to be the issue of hard to find parts. The tractor runs good, no issues other than leaking from the throttle rod. I have no experience with working on pumps so Id like someone else that knows how to fix it. I just need the tractor last another 10-12 years before I call it quits. Its mainly my rake tractor.

Feel free to give me a call if you are unable to find someone in your area that will help you out. I have repaired my share of these pumps and still see a handful each year. Al
