International Harvester model 350 U.

today I went out and did some work on the I.H. model 350 utility. I did some cleaning up on it. took the hood peace's into the shop and started sand on the paint. I tam not to Shure what is the color it is to be. the tractor was painted all Green which I know is not the right color. Instead, I see that I have a yellowish color and then it goes down to a red color. So, if this tractor was to be red? how about that (this tractor has been repainted at least two time in two different colors. He is a picture of the hood sanded down yu tell me what color you think this tractor should be.

IH red with IH White grill and indentation on side panels. Search tractor Photos for IH 350U. It is mine. Jim

IH red. The grill and the inset areas on the sides of the hood are white. The IH300u was all red. gobble

If a farm model it was red with the white on the inset panels and grill. If an industrial model or county it was probably painted yellow. then some tractors Ih had a yellow primer or coating for the steel and cast iron so it was sealed to not leak or rust. usually used on the castings like trans case or inside of the block. Though I have seen what appeared to me to be a yellow type of a primer on tin work in the past.

I can see through the years people have taken this tractor and sanded it down and repaint it. the most interesting part is that there is Bondo on the front top part. the grill is well all bent up. This is normal for a tractor that has been well worked in the years. The tractor tag is not readable so I have to say can't go by the tractor tag on this tractor. Like always I am used to getting other people junk and I will restore it like all the other tractors I have done in the past. Another project for the me to do.

so, If I understand that this model there was never any yellow on them. Industrial models where not the 350 Utility. so, then the tractor should be Red and white on grill. What is interesting is that the green paint job on the tractor looked like they went to a lot of work Todo the paint job. There is even Bondo found on top of front grill before painting it green. Which tells me that they really wanted a green tractor in this color. Kind of like the sunbelt rentals. I wish the tag was readable on the tractor. I will see how I do it as I go in the restoration work, I do on this project. Thanks for you information.

I think I better look up your tractor picture and get a good look at a nice tractor. So, are you saying there was never any Yellow industrial tractor of this model? I only wish I could had seen the tag before they scratched it up. I can only see the stamp numbers. the casting on the engine and the serial numbers on the block still that means nothing I know this. Well, I took a Free tractor time will tell me as I go on this restoration project what I end up with. It will be interesting what I see as I go with on with this tractor Restoration. I got it free on a property clean up job I did.

There were plenty of commercial/industrial, county and state tractors that were purchased in Agricultural red W/white trim paint. IH would paint ordered tractors to customers specification, and customers painted at will. Ingredients that lean toward an original Industrial model would be reverser transmission, gas pedal throttle system, heavier non adjustable front axles and solid disk rear wheels. Mine has combine wheels on the rear as the original spinout wheels and rims rusted into oblivion from calcium Chloride leakage while I was getting educated at universities. Jim
