Help me find....

A replacement glass for my Dad's old level. Company is long gone. The glass is 1.5 inches in diameter and 1/16 inches thick. Not sure if it is regular glass or what. Pretty old level...I remember it from when I was a kid. I have found similar vials to what broke but I need the glass cover. Any ideas who might have such a thing?

Go to your local glass shop. I had them cut a round glass for a steam gauge that had to be the correct thickness so the bezel would fit correctly. I think they charged me $5

look here.

the other option is the glass from an old oxy/acetylene regulator.

I have many old regs that I can look at if this doesn't work, email is open

I have gone as far as buying a new level just for parts to help restore a family heritage piece like that.

Dave, time to go to your local picture framer for a piece of glass (thin) and start practicing your glass cutting. Even circles are not that hard to do with a little practice. Or like was suggested, your local class shop. steve

Appreciate it! There were some great suggestions here! I ended up buying the glass from McMaster-Carr because it is the exact size and they had the vials also. Should be here tomorrow and I will try to put it together.
