Out with Onan in with Kubota

Got fed up with trying to get the Onan in my skidloader running, and this little Kubota diesel came up for sale. Claims it has around 150 hours on it.

So now I have another project, making it fit in my skidloader.

Went to get it today, left at 4am hoping to get home early. But 843 miles of slippery roads and I didn't get home til 8pm. Guess that will teach me to make sure I know how far it is when I buy something. Lol. And pic a day when roads are good. Lol
 
That should be a decent upgrade . Id like a kubota or yanmar for my welder but I dont know how much I really want to put into the thing
 
I have been with Onan since 1980. A good engine but time for an upgrade. Onan went with Kubota on some units. If only 150 hours. You did very good. I have seen them with a lot more than that. Good engine to have.
 
Looks similar to the kubota that was in the 751 bobcat we had. Great engine , start right up took no oil great on fuel. There was around 5000 hours on it when we sold it and still worked the same.
 
It's rated at about 15 hp at 3500 rpms, that's less than the 18 of the Onan but I think being diesel it will be OK. If not I'll get a turbo for it, I see some have done that on these.
 
I have a welder sitting here that will not make power has a d905 kubota three cylinder that runs perfect. If you ever decide to make the swap will sell all or part. Located in Tennessee.
 
Look for a Cub Cadet parts tractor that had a Kubota gas or diesel,it'll have the drive hub and the radiator.Think they were models 8217 diesel and 8221 gasoline.
