Farmall 300 hydraulics

I've been working on the hydraulic leak on the 300. We removed all of the sheet metal so could get a good look at what's going on. The center and inside valves were leaking only from where the bottom cap bolts to the valve bodies. Everything else was dry. I obtained the O-rings that are between where the bodies press against each other and the rings for the bottom caps. What would be the harm in letting sleeping dogs lie per say on everything else being it's not leaking ? I am going to replace the o-rings where the steel lines bolt up.

So you want to maybe have to pull them off again, in any time from a day to years. For what could have been done now and not leaked later. If it was like my 06,56 series where you can pull them by taking the side casting off under the seat it might make some sense.

I think I would change any orings in that area since it is apart that would not be easy to get to unless it is apart.

Had a 340 apart last year and it was the levers leaking the worst. A good rollpin punch was needed and a third hand was helpful.

I believe that what you are asking is that you do not intend to dis assemble the valve bodies. Yes, if they aren't leaking, leave them alone. I think that the only o rings in the body is on the shaft that the lever linkage attaches to. If I read it correctly you intend to replace all of the o rings between the bodies and also where the steel lines attach, which I think is what everyone else is trying to tell you that you need to do. IF I read it correctly

I may have not worded it correctly. I guess what I'm talking about is replacing everything but what is on the valve stem itself unless there is a particular seal that would provoke it to leak out of the bottom cap. Part # 2 is one of the seals I already have. I have never been into any of these before and dealer is telling me most of it is unobtainable except the o-rings. I don't want to tear up something that I can't eat as this is technically not my tractor, but I do want to dry up the hydraulic leak that I inherited when I borrowed it. Sorry for the upside down parts breakdown.

If you intend to keep it replace every Oring and any gaskets. As I said you are now 1/2 the way through it. Why not put in al of them? Jim
