expanding the orchard.

Spent 2 hours yesterday clearing some ground next to the
orchard. My boy's new hobby is cutting down trees.
So I cleared the ground where I want my boy to drop some trees,
skin the small branches and push them off to the edge

of the gravel pit rim. The small telephone size posts will be
saved for a neighbor to burn in his outdoor boiler.

It's not that I don't have a chainsaw and could do the work
myself. I just want to spend time with my boy and let him have
some fun. I have a lot of fun for him to cut. This is the first
place. My boy works for food too. He loves cornbread, ham and
beans.

Good for you...I know more that a few people whose kids never show up if there's some work to be done.

You figuring on expanding the orchard...more trees?

Yes, planting more trees in the orchard soon and removing trees that shaded the orchard.
When kids are little they are big helps.
When they are big, they are little helps.

My son is a busy work at home manager of cyber security for a company.

Sometimes he can play in his woodshop while working at home.

He loves working at home.

He loves cutting trees for the fun of it.

Making sawdust is his new hobby.
 
please be careful,trees and chainsaws are always dangerous, just last week cousin was doing same with his son,now cousin is very lucky be alive tree got him all down right side things are all busted,do not know how he is still alive,would not be if they were not working together, please be careful. i only do trees now with my big excavator.
 
i am curious what he uses the sawdust for, and what saw he uses? a sharp chain saw makes nice sawdust.
 
NO use for sawdust. By boy's hobby is making sawdust with any saw, draw knife, hand planner and router. .
 
ok got ya, your just calling his work making sawdust. my summer hobby is making dust then.
