Anybody have a suggestion on where or how to get rid of a good deal of new old ford tractor parts from a closed dealership. Lots of filters bearings pumps sheet metal etc. dont know if theyre other dealers or restorers that might buy the whole lot so I wouldnt have to one at a time it

Come up with a price first. Or figure out how to auction the stuff on eBay. In either case, you will have to spend some time laying the stuff out so people can see what they are buying. Otherwise, you will just get low bids if they dont know whats in there.

I agree with Fritz. If you want to see maximum money out of this stuff, you'll basically have to identify each item, market it yourself, and sell it by the piece.
Otherwise, if you just want to sell the entire lot at a fair price, and see it go to a good cause (meaning someone who is willing to do the above), then you probably aren't going to see premium dollars out of it. That one guy out there looking for a mint condition 8n hood, is unlikely going to want a pair of fenders for some other model.
A buyer for the entire lot, is probably going to want to pick up the entire lot themselves to avoid shipping costs. So the distance thing is an issue there. Readers here interested in the entire lot are going to want to know where its located. And this same post would probably see more interest on the ford forum on this site, if not already posted there.

A woman who has an antique shop said that when she buys, she pays 25% to 30% of retail. So if you had about 10K of NOS, you can expect to be offered about 3K for it. That's the easy way to sell it. To get full value you will have to market it piece by piece.

Price is very unimportant at this time. Only after inventory can price be determined. When I sold my shop a fellow asked how much money would I have to have and I told him to have a letter from a bank guaranteeing that he could secure a quarter million and then I would give a price of every item. This is the only safe way for both parties and it worked for the selling. Both parties were happy

I agree moonlight Im not going to worry about top price at this point maybe the parts depot or someone who can take the time to identify all the parts. But crooks are a dime a dozen. Thanks guys for the info

Try to find an online auction company that will list the items sometimes that will bring more buyers. To do it right they have to list and photograph each group of items.
