It is not a Cub

But we bought it. Farmall B. Not many around here. Clutch was stuck several years ago. It's been sitting under a tree. Pumped up tires and drug it on the trailer. Motor is stuck. Homemade, electric 3 point hitch. Well done, but odd. Got it home pulled spark plugs and ran a scope down in. Water in 2 cylinders and visible rust in all of them. I know of an A, ugly but good running, may do a motor swap.

Also bought 2 cub mower pulleys and a planter drive gear.

Thanks for the update and the other post . Looks like a good day for you. Im sure you can get the B going one way or another.

When I built my BA I had a B with lock up engine but good block and the A that was in 5 -r 6 pieces due to hitting a tree when it rolled down a hill. So I took the B block and put the A parts in it. That is how the BA came about. A engine block was broken at both the front and rear mounting points and the Torque tube was cracked badly

Nice find, I'm jealous! I've heard that vinegar in the cylinders will dissolve the rust. Anyone ever tried it? Of course you'd probably have to contend with sticky rings but a spinner is better than a stuck 'er.

Back in the 80's dad and I were looking for a tractor I could fix up and drive in parades. There were several Farmall A and B tractors around here back then. We went to auctions to look. I remember one B bringing $75 and one for $125. A model A with belly sickle and cracked block for $225. A 1940 farmall M for $250. Looked at a stuck 1952 JD G. The owner changed his mind and would sell to us. Sold it for scrap five years later along with a model A. Ended up buying a 1941 Case SC that had been painted for the auction for $500. I still have it.

good catch. I have a BN (same tractor but Narrower) that I put a second seat beside the operator's seat, so that Linda can ride along with me in a parade. Easy to do. can;t find the pictures right now.

That grille is correct the grills never changed from 1939-1947 so you must have an incorrect one if it is not like shown and the c was just like the A and B till the supers came out they were taller

TF, lol, going back tomorrow. Any suggestions as to what I should get?! I'm for sure getting 2 pallets of cub stuff
