Thinking about a newer tractor

My Newholland t4020 2008 model with only
2500 hours needs new injectors and had a
cracked head i bought it used with 1800
hrs on it from the company I work
for.they had a broom on the front of it
used on a paving crew.i suspect they
might of got it over heated probably the
reason for the cracked head but im not
sure. I have never got it hot never had
that issue at all.thinking about selling
it or trade it in on a different brand
.its 64 hp 2wd with no leader.would like
to have 4wd with a loader just kicking
the idea around right now.its been at the
dealership for a month now.i never was
real happy with it the shifting isnt that
smooth but the airconditioner always
worked good.what brand would you guys
recommend.

Kubota seems to be the front runner these days.Have never heard any negatives about them.Kubota is becoming the Toyota of the tractor world.

Is your tractor a manual shuttle ? I had a tn 75 f that was manual got tired of it and got a power shuttle what a relief , the cracked head is not the tractors fault so don't dismiss New holland because some circus clown did not read the warning signs

I have a L4310 kubota 43 hp 4wd with loader hydrostatic drive no cab i have a grapple and a skidding winch i use on it nice little tractor for getting around in the woods for skidding logs for my firewood business its like a goat itll go about anywhere but just to small for my hay equipment but im definitely looking in that direction

Not sure what you call it.it has a forward reverse on the left with two 4 speed shifters on the right. And its hard to catch another gear on the fly without it almost coming to a stop it really annoys me trying to shift it

I have less than 100 hrs on my Kubota. Wasn't happy with AC on 95 sunny days, So I Painted the top white, that helped.

I chose Kubota because Kubota is only dealer in Terre Haute and it's been there since 1967.

The dealer makes the tractor. So if you have a good dealer, go with that brand. I wish I had an air ride seat.

My tractor pushes snow in winter and mows lawn in summer. I'll never be without an AC lawnmower. Loader is nice, but I already have two terramites which I like using more for yard work. I take the front bucket off when mowing, tractor bounces less. Loader with titian forks is my elevator to the loft in pole barn.

We had a T4030 4wd loader platform tractor for a short period of time ,wasnt much of a tractor. In that size Kubotas have a great reputation, Deeres make a nice tractor that size too.

Not sure what John Dealers do in your area offer but down here they have package deals. In March I bought a 5090E came with loader, bucket and hay spear. Sitting in it now filling pasture sprayer on a job for a friend enjoying the AC and radio while it fills. So far been great tractor and dealer is only 20 minutes away.

My neighbor who does hay has 3 newer Massey Fergusons. They dont seem to be down much if ever.

I have had decent luck with my Kubota tractors. I will use them for any job on the farm, plough, doc , cultivate , run round baler, load manure, they handle it just fine. And our dealer is good to work with as well. Definitely worth a look at Kubota, and see what they have to offer

Many tractors years back painted the cab roofs white, Oliver/Cockshutt AC and IH. Case tractors were white and Ford also had white cab roof. Now Fendt is the only company that I can think of that has a white cab roof

yup that's a manual shift its easier to push the clutch pedal in when shifting , mine is just a lever on the left side of the steering wheel which is what is called a powershift

Well....I am looking for something like that right now! I wouldn't be pushing it too hard, so it would probably last me forever! Only trouble is - I'm in Missouri!

L3560 with cab.
No way would I take it to the woods. Trees and cabs don't play well together.
I fear a stick would go through the radiator too.
I have no fear blazing a path through a jungle through brush, a woods with terramite.
No radiator, no cab, roll cage. Only fear is a flat tire.

Rick if you are going 4x4 and loader be sure and hold out for the HYDRAULIC SHUTTEL version. Much nicer loader tractor.

Bruce,
The top of the Newholland is blue and Kubota is Kubota orange.
Are their any new tractors with white tops?

I have heard that you can't get parts for a 10 year or older KABOTA. I always though if you bought a JD you were paying extra for green paint. My brother had a New Holland and had no problems. He also had bigger Massey Ferguson and it was a good tractor. I'm down sizing And sold all but 11 acres. I down sized my tractor too. I bought a 1723 Massey no cab but It has a loader and a back hoe. It will pick up 600 pounds 6 feet in the air and dig 6 foot down. The main thing I like about it is It has dam good brakes. I have never had a new tractor till now and a tractor with good brakes or any brakes at all. I would say look for a good and close dealer first.

Guy here on the site has a 6060 & couldn't keep it out of the shop. I think he finally got it line out....can't remember his handle.

I believe you have been misled, Kubota is as good or better about providing parts for older equipment. One of the key reasons that I switched away from CNH was they completely forgot they ever built a tractor after it is 20 years old. And JD isnt any better . I dont blame these companies for not stocking parts for old equipment really. They are in the business of selling new equipment. Their customers buy the tractors when the tractors are sold new. Not supplying parts for tractors built 20-30 years old.

no way would I buy a case ih or kubota a good friend has both of them it seems one or the other is broke down. now that I think about it he bought both tractors from same dealer. maybe is dealer problem?
