Called my local tire dealer and discovered a pair of 18.4x28's are a thousand dollars more than a pair of 16.9x28's. They are on a 6060, will I even notice the difference? Is there any good reason not to go with the 16.9's? I pull 3 bottom 14's and a mower.

Only if you have a loader on it and loaded tires. The extra weight. I would wonder why the difference in price and would shop some more.

We are limited here is WNY, really only one tractor tire company still making house calls, however they are good guys. 18.4X28's are nearly impossible to find anyplace but I was surprised at the price difference. That price includes delivery, mounting, loading and tax.

I have a 175D which is going to need 18.4x28's soon. It has 16 inch rims on it, so 18.4 it will be. I'm sure the 6060 has 16 inch rims also. That's still not any too much tire for that tractor. We pulled 4x16 with our 6060, and ended up putting 18.4x30 tires on it. 185 pulled the same plow, but the 6060 had more power, and used less fuel.
Is it Sedam tire, in Perry? When I wanted 16.9x38 Firestone radials, they had to be factory ordered. Sedam got them for me, [if I'm remembering the correct name.]
