Just more of those old tractors around here than there are buyers. If that is the tractor I think it is , the guy used it up until he pased away last year.
 
I just got this 55 Cub for $300. Took a day to get it running and now it runs great.

Old, my Ns are just for fun. Maybe more work then what they are worth. I have a J/D 5203 with 4WD and FEL for serious work around the property. I can still run my small disc and cultivator with the Ns if I can keep them running long enough.
 
My late model 8N has a Dearborn 19-71 loader on it and a Scout backhoe. If done right I can dig down about 18 feet with that backhoe but it is a real pain to get on.
 
Nice, if I was to need any backhoe work I will try to pay my neighbor as he is in the business. Wont take money from immediate neighbors but isnt opposed to a 30 pack of Natural Light beer. Works out for everyone I guess.

If you can't keep an N series running, you need a different hobby or a new tractor.
They're about as simple as mechanical gas powered machines get!
 
My dad got this 8Nback in the late 80s for $3250. He was told the engine was rebuilt and it had good tires and they delivered it to where I live now. In Dec of 2015 it was under water but I drained every thing ASAP and it is just fine now. It is slow but gets the job done.
