I'm still looking at the disc mower. They are trying hard to sell me a 3 point model. I know you use them, how easy are they to hook and unhook? I only have one tractor large enough to handle it, but it is usually hooked to the round baler. Not the end of the world to hook and unhook, but just wondering. Thanks - Bob

I run a pottinger nova cat 305 3 point mounted mower conditioner. I used to put it on and remove it daily all through hay season as I had one big tractor. Somedays it took a few minutes. Some days it took 10-20 min with sledge hammer and pry bar with cursing. I don't have any flat concrete pads to use which was the big problem.

The newer nova cat has a tilting arm that makes them easier to hookup.

My solution was buying an old Allis Chalmers 7010 for 4500$ that the mower lives on for hay season. No more fighting with it.

Like many things in life, experience plays a big role in how easy reconnecting any 3 pth equipment is , and the disc mower is no exception. I dont set my mower off on concrete, no real gain as I can see. Just firm level ground, so when you back the tractor up to reconnect, you are not fighting a unnecessary battle right off the start. Truly important feature it be mindful of when connecting a 3 pth disc mower is, after you have one of the owner hitch arms connected, hook up the remote line that will raise and lower the disc mower head. Adjusting the mower head will either raise or lower the other pin to the height of your yet to be connected lower hitch arm. And thats about all there is to it. Adjustable lower arm links that extend out, and fender mounted remote 3 pth control make the job a snap, but not a deal breaker if you dont have them. Practice speeds the process, if you can backup straight, your half way home, lol

Just fought getting one off a dead tractor no fun. Then trying to fit to a different size tractor still more fun. not a good day

I have a Newholland 7 ft disc mower it has two legs it sets on i can probably hook it up in five minutes its easy and simple i have one tractor i do all my haying with mow ted rake bale.with any three point piece of equipment hook the side without the adjustable crank first that way when you do the side with the crank you can adjust it up or down as needed makes it way easier this way hope this helps

I have a Kuhn GMD700 takes maybe 10 minutes to get it on, set and ready to mow. The manufactures know that they must be taken off so the needed dismount brackets are provided. The cutter bar must be flat on the ground when it is unhooked.
