After about a decade I got a new battery and put in some gas. After about two minutes the ole 1949G was running again.
Now to do a good wash job , check all the fluids , air up the tires and take her for a slow ride around the fields.
Brings back a lot of memories.

Nice looking tractor, appears to be in good shape with no leaks. Good dog, too. I know there's been some discussion, but I forget if it's the same company that made the trucks.

A guy in our club has one. He's been waiting for rod bearings for it since last summer. The crank has been ground so they aren't
standard bearings. He said he's about ready to have to have it welded up and ground back to standard to see if he has any better
luck getting a set.

(quoted from post at 08:36:49 05/31/21) Two different companies.
Trucks in New York from 1912 to 1977.
Acquired by Mack in 1959.

Tractors in Ohio from late 40s to early
50s. About 500 built.

Thanks, Pete. I'll try to keep that bit of info stored away for next time time this topic arises :)

Not the same company. They were built by the Brockway family in Auburn Twp., Ohio not far from me and the garage is still there. I'm not sure which is correct. I've
heard they had an agreement with the truck company to use the name, and the truck company stopped them from using the name so they produced under the Leader name.

Well ... I got her running but we didn't get to go for a field ride as she continues to shut down.
I imagine it's a fuel issue but will start the search for appropriate replacement ignition parts for the F162 Continental.
Just looking at the carb I suspect cleaning out the system will be a major chore.
