I got a deal on it, I think, but it needed some TLC to make it work right. JD still has parts, but who knows for how much longer. Coming close to 90 years old.

Do you think they really want to make new ones?

That would amount to things like warranties. Can you think of a JD mechanic that would want to warranty repair work on one? Consider: when do they most likely fail? When they are full of product. So, who would want to make new ones with that potential problem ready to strike?
