New problem on the 1947 Cub

I was out putting in an in line shut of valve for the lawn mower tank and noticed what appears to be coolant all long the bottom of the radiator. Pulled the cap off and it was low compared to what it was when I parked it yesterday. Guess maybe the bottom radiator gasket leaks a bit so I'll be putting in some stop leak and see if that helps. Oh well I guess something this old has the right to leak a bit here and there

Hey Old, don't use stop leak. Cub ain't got a water pump. All the stop leak settles to the bottom of the front bolster. Most likely will never circulate enough to do any good. Radiator gasket is cheap. Or easy to make out of cork. Unfortunately it requires taking out 20+ bolts.....

I used stop leak on my BA years ago and have had no problems and it to doesn't have a water pump. The key is to get it warm then add the stop leak so it flows around before it settles to the bottom and does it job

I will third the black pepper idea. It worked for a few years on our B until I finally broke down and had it fixed.

Pepper did a great job in my Model A to seal the radiator up & get me home from the car show. Left it that way for about a month before taking the rad in for repairs. Don't know how long the fix would last, but it's good if you're in a pinch. Also, it was very common for those Cubs to have the casting crack that the rad is bolted to. May want to inspect that should you take it apart.
