LeSeuer MN Pioneer swap meet

Last I heard they were still trying/ hopeful.

Their monthly meeting is tomorrow evening, likely something comes out of that in a day or two.

I have heard the same. The topic came up at Junkshow meeting on Monday. A few at that meeting are annual vendors there and have heard similar in regards to the event. Ive heard of some stipulations that go along, but should know more early next week.

the governor allowed full cap a week ago with limits into the thousands. I dont see why they wouldnt have it, alot of places had meets last year. If you skip to many they wont come anymore

db4600,

I have been checking the Pioneer Power Swap Meet site daily ...but figured that they had to have time to check out the ridiculous rules, then hold a meeting to make a decision.

We HOPE they have it! For crying out loud, it is OUTSIDE and covers many acres - so if people can sit in a dang sports stadium to the tune of 10,000 people... then we should be able to go look at rust and junk! Right?

We'd just like to know when and HOW,
stay home for 2 weeks to flatten the curve became stay home until you accept communism.

Were in the same boat at Junkshow, but hav time on our side. Weve been sent some playground rules by the county playground monitor and been told to play nice or leave our ball at home. I think Rocks and Cows is done hiding and has something to say soon. That will likely have some bearing on all this.

db,

Where is Junkshow? If I've inquired oreviously, I have forgotten. Just wondering it that would be a possible day-trip, if they decide to hold it.

If they do have the meet I am sure a few people will get the virus from attending but I'll bet more people pick up the flu bug than the virus. The kind of people who go to a swap meet are 'people people' who are out and around and have been exposed already. If they haven't been sick by now they never will get it. Just my humble opinion.

I looked about a week ago and it was still on. My wife asked today if we were going and I said yes if she's got the corn planted.

Dont want to make this political and dont want to involve the Pioneer guys at all in any such, but....

I hear you!

Paul

Sweet Feet,

I enjoy most of what you post, but the communism comment is just a bit too much. Evidently you are too young to have met people in the 1950's who escaped communist Russia, East Germany, Poland, etc who gave up everything with fear for their lives at likely being shot at the borders for trying to escape the Communist govt they were living under. I knew a few of those people. Our lockdown has been challenging and unpleasant (and probably necessary to save lives), but we sure haven't heard of anyone being shot for not obeying the recommendations or orders. Many of us live in the metro area and have seen huge numbers of our fellow residents succumb to this terrible virus. I personally know of 6 friends, neighbors, and former co workers who have died from this. 5 of them were healthy people, full of knowledge and willing to share.

P.S. I sure do hope to be able to attend the Pioneer Swap Show. I have been there many times and love the event. Maybe we meet there and exchange pleasant greetings.

Albany Pioneer Days. 2 weekends after Labor Day and the other big show. Just west of St. Cloud. Years back I worked with a crane operator who would rib me about my fascination with old stuff and jokingly labeled Junkshow.

I am on your side and would like to see you there. It's a fun time, don't pay any attention to THAT Pee in MN guy.

Paul in MN,

Thank you for your cordial repIy. I too, hope we can all attend the swap meet.
Not likely to meet though (can very seldom get my Mr. to sit down and visit - though I thoroughly enjoy visting with people).

I was born after the 50's. However I had a grandfather who served in WWI, as did his brother... to fight for freedom in the world.

I have three nephews who have been deployed into nations run under an undesirable regime in a sandy place... to help keep peace and fight for freedom in the world.

My first boss was a woman whose family escaped from E. Germany... to save their lives and once again live in freedom.

I have talked with the aforementioned people... have done some reading over the years, and watched some documentaries ... so though a child of the 60's, I am not hopelessly uninformed.
I am NOT claiming we are there ...yet - just that we are on our way (starting out with small impingements - makes it more acceptable to folks, as the wool is slowly pulled over their eyes).

Just checked, the swap meet is on.

Straight from their website.
