Apparently not. I asked the "old" guy loading it how old it was. He didn't know, but said it was made in Brazil and he has been running it for 30 years. He definitely wasn't covered in saw dust when he finished.

Looks to have quite a "hotrod" rake to it.

Orange groves look pretty pathic compared to other orchards generally, from those I have seen.
Very unkept, the only trimming seems to be to "mow" the row of trees into a hedge.
Very few groves get disked or mowed to keep the under growth down. Except maybe at harvest time.
I have seen a lot of groves where half of the trees are dead and left standing untill they take them all out to start over.

Do you know what they would say if I posted something like that?

DEATH MACHINE!!!

Double standards???

Thaat one even has an added "sure kill" fourth blade at head height.

A death machine at another level, George.

Maybe it is at the auction yard for a reason, like it brings bad reminders to the family, etc.

Good for the growers for being able to turn profits without spending money on beatification that does not increase the dollars in their pockets. Many others could learn from them. If the money you spend does not raise your profit then it is wasted.

This is the machine I have to hedge the tops of apples & peaches. Durand-Wayland (Georgia) built these in the 1970's. Most were shipped to Florida for citrus work. It's a heavy machine with a
"universal mount" on any tractor heavy enough to support it. It's mounted with massive plates with three beefy turnbuckles on each side across the axle housings of the tractor, then hitched to the
lower 3-point arms set completely down and another strong connection to the drawbar. The saw blades are powered by one hydraulic motor and a stepped-belt arrangement to each saw blade shaft. A PTO
hydraulic pump powers the motor.
