Both taken west of Oroville, WA. This was a pile of old scrap out behind an orchard. Photographed from the abandoned Great Northern bridge over the Okanogan river, pictured below.

That was their dump before the town opened one and passed a law prohibiting private dumps. Our place has one as did everyone's 100 years ago, ours is mostly covered with dirt from the leaves that have rotted down.

When the river's up, it's a raging torrent. When it's low, you'll get shredded on the rocks. That's below the dam, though. Above the dam, it's quite tranquil.
