Cub Question

With all this talk about Cub's here lately, I have a question. Just what is the purpose of the two holes on the right hand side of the hood? My Cub has been in pieces for at least 10 years so I can't look and see what they are for. It's been fun trying to find all the pieces to put it back together.

No real purpose that anyone knows for sure. Ive heard that if you use a certain planter, you can see the chains through those holes, and Ive heard they were like that for "future" use with mounted equipment.

Good afternoon: I just noted the discussion, I may muddy the water but will comment anyway. I have seen tractors with a hole in the floor pan where the end of a coil spring is hooked in from underneath.
