parts search

Afternoon fellers,
Grandpap and I began pulling valves from the waukesha engine today and 2 of them will for sure need replaced, possibly 4 total (i'll include a picture). We're now open to the option of finding a donor engine, but we're also considering buying blank valves and sending them away to get spun out to fit our dimensions. Does anybody know where i could purchas valves that are 7.5" long, have a stem of .433" and a head of 2.14"? Once I find those, we'll need to locate a reliable precision machine shop in the North east US. Or if anyone knows of any junkyards that would have an old waukesha model N (I know these units were also used in trucks and probably other types of equipment.) There is also a chance we will need valve guides, springs, etc, but so far everything else is intact.
If anyone can put me in contact with "plant doc" on here, I know he mentioned that hes worked on waukeshas before, and maybe he would have a contact for a junkyard?

Thanks for any help
have a great day

What may be helpful is to look at a , Progressive Diametrical
size chart of valves, Automotive machine shop should have one.
Mine is in an old Sealed Poweer catalog.
They list one valve that is overall length 7.438, Stem dai. .4345 seat angle 45 degrees.
Head dia is 2.250 so too large. Part # is V-1581.

If you find a machine shop interested in working on it, they may have sources for the valves and guides and seats and anything else it might need.

If there are any antique car clubs near you, they may know someone who is interested and willing to help.

N is the series , what is the rest of the model # ?

Have some wauk books and some parts . Look for a

part # stamped on the stem by the keepers . If the number

was on the head it is probably gone.

the number stamped into the tag above the gears is 42698. The year is 1919. When I'm back at the engine ill check the numbers you described. If i cant see any numbers on the head, where should I look specifically? Thanks

For model there should be a brass tag on the block, and

could be cast in the side of block.

If there is enough left I may be able to repair them.

Send me an email with phone # and I'll call you.
