Unstyled B Radiator hose

I am going to be replacing the hoses on the water
pipe on a JD 1938 unstyled B. I’m measuing the
pipe at 2 3/8” OD. I’m thinking it only makes sense
to get 2 3/8” ID hose. I see some ebay tractor parts
sellers listing the correct hose to use is 2 5/8”. Why
is that? Going to have to special order the 2 3/8”
from local NAPA. Thanks

It's apparently 2-3/8" I.D. for both the top and bottom hoses.

WHY would you question your actual measurement vs. some odd internet seller that's probably never even SEEN a John Deere B?

As a comparison to what you may find at NAPA, a "stick" of it from DEERE (B406R) is around $50, the "improved parts site" doesn't list the length.

Quick now, check your order. Most times the parts store will only order a 3 ft. hose and you will not like the price for that. I got some from K&K as I ordered the lower pipe too. It was pricey. One time I got some from Tractor Supply special order by them from Hershel. 2 3/8 is the diameter.

Both the upper, B406R, and the lower, B402R, hoses are 2-3/8" ID and 2-3/4" OD.
When the tractor was new the upper hose was 6" long and the lower was 4" long. Might need to be longer if the ends of the pipes has rusted off.
