Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting with George. He is alive and well. the terremite , the south one is fine with new differential , Farmall C with mower is ready and able. Noticed a garden tractor with higher wheels modified to mow in the gravel pit. Main reason for visit was Harbor Freight Chicago Electric tools does not provide an ion battery as stores do not carry replacement batteries. Hense George to the rescue!! He found online Dewalt Ion type battery dock items . He is taking junk Chicago Electric battery's apart gluing the Dewalt battery dock in the empty shell. Thus providing Dewalt 20 volt ion type batteries powering my group of Harbor Freight tools. Plan is to do the same thing with my older Black and Decker tools. You know your pickup truck is a death machine as well as all farm and or garden tractors when not use with common sense. IF THE SHOE FITS?????????????

Good to hear that our friend George is alive and well. Your second last sentence puzzles me (although I know what you are referring to I think). Your last one is totally confusing. Maybe others get it but I don't. If you have time, why not explain it for me?

The face yt makes when george posts one of his death machines

I agree with those last two sentences and I personally have cobbled things together that I used safely,as I know many people on this forum have.

I could give you a long list of folks to miss.

They come and they go. Some pass away, others move on to other interests. Nobody is bound or forced to be here.

George is welcome back if he should decide to rejoin us. If not, I hope he has a good life.

Unfortunately, he had little tolerance for criticism. When he posted one of his inventions, he got mixed reviews. He took that as a personal attack.

Next time you see him, tell him to come back, some of us actually do miss his posts. Tell him to just ignore the idiots on here.

After a guy is flamed and criticized over and over again (and yes, I think I got into the mob scene myself once or twice), the only way you can get back into good stead is to leave. Then someone contacts him and makes a post and then we're all tripping over ourselves saying how much we miss him and welcoming him back. I might as well do the same ..... C'mon back George, the site hasn't been the same since you left..... LOL !! Hopefully, this will be the last time we go through all of this if George decides to stay away. If you run into him, keep it a secret.

Looks like it's in the monthly posting list along with motor oil, trailer tires, and which tractor should I buy.

(quoted from post at 12:15:15 10/07/20) Is that Karen?

Now THAT is funny and shows you keep up with the outside world!

As far as Geo not taking criticism well, why should he? Why do people here feel the need to suppoly criticism to others? This is suppposed, I thought, to be a freiendly place. You can give advice but that need not be destrictive. If you do not like what someone has made or done just move on quietly. I know I am not perfect at this, but I vow to try to be better.

I know folks come and go but I recall just five or so years ago I could spend a good 45 minutes in the morning reading the first three forums on the list here. Now I am done in about 10. The place is being deserted. Guess I will start looking elsewhere but this forum has sure been nice and helpful at times, and generally interesting even if I was not looking for info on a problem.

Apparently you misunderstand.

George would post about one of his inventions - some of which were deadly dangerous - and when the comments started he would get all upset.

This IS a friendly place. Most that commented were only trying to convince him not to hurt himself with some of the things he invented. Isn't that friendly??????? If it was Unfriendly, folks would have just said "go ahead" to him.

In many cases, folks here post some of their mistakes and blunders. Then they either get sympathy or criticism. Oh, well. If they did not want the comments, they should not have posted about the goof-ups they made, eh?

When you start out a post with "look at the stupid thing I did," you have to expect some comments. Not all will be favorable. Another thing is that if you can't take it, don't dish it out.

I've been flamed on this site more than once. I don't let it bother me. I still like to read the forums. George, on the other hand, wanted to be the center of attention and for everyone to say "atta boy, George!" I don't think there is one of the long time people on this forum that does not know all of what George likes and doesn't like. Like diesel exhaust gives him a headache and he hates the smell of smoke. The list goes on if I think about it.

To all of this I say if George wants to come back and be one of the boys here, that is fine by me. If he chooses to stay away, that is also fine. It is entirely up to him.
