Metal cutting options

I am installing air tubes on my GSI 42 drying bin and would like some suggestions on how to cut triangles in the floor to accept the tubes. I have heard that a plasma cutter will work but I have no experience with this . If anyone has a better way to cut triangular shape holes through thin perforated floor, I would appreciate it! Thanks in advance!!

How about a 4 inch grinder with the thin metal blade called a zip cut. Worrys good. Where eye protection and gloves.

If you are just cutting a triangle out of a straight piece of metal, there is no reason why an angle grinder with cut off blade wouldn't work.

if its really dry and dusty in the bin and a lot of fines under the floor be careful of a fire or dust explosion.

Friend of mine installed the triangle tubes over 25 years ago and a tool came with them. A sliding angled triangle that you held up against the wall with your foot and then hammered the internal piece down through the floor. Worked slick, I would be calling the place that sold them to you, as this tool went back to the company he bought the tubes from. This is after he had grain in it a few times and needed better air flow.

Sounds like the best idea yet! I bought them on Craigslist so don’t know where I can get the tool!

The ones that I have seen and done are way too small to use a grinder and cut off wheel to cut out. You need to borrow, rent or make a tool like Mathies is talking about. They make the correct size opening and it's FAST!!

If you have enough room, drill a starter hole big enough and then cut with a jigsaw with metal-cutting blade.

There seems to be some concern about available space to work in.
If you use a grinder, I'd also wear a good dust mask as those wheels produce some nasty airborne material.
