40 years of pictures from well liked AG teacher

Old friend and favored AG teacher died , leaving me with boxes of pictures. Indiana FFA foundation took
much. However I would like for someone who may be interested contact me about the pictures. Also I have and
wish to keep his Argus C3 camera. Any photo people have the skills to totally clean the camera??I had A C3
years ago, seemed to take excellent pictures. Yes could take double exposures if not careful. E mail is

My parents had an Argus C3 when I was a kid. They had most of the pics made into slides and then they got a fancy slide projector. I liked putting the slides into tray to make slide shows.
 
A C3 is one of the few non Zeiss cameras that are on my "to get" list. Almost had one a few years ago when I lived out in Washington. There was a small camera store in Spokane that was owned by a guy that repaired/reconditioned Argus & other cameras. Passed up on it at the time because I had invested enough in having my lenses rehabbed. Wish I did as the gentleman passed shortly after I picked up my last lens. He did excellent work & wouldn't accept a tip for it. So I hand rolled about 36-38 exposures of frozen Kodak PX from 1978 & gave it to him. He was ecstatic! Hope he got a chance to use it before he left this Earth.

I'm a big fan of rangefinder cameras of this type. The Argus C3 was built well into the 1960s and considered a good solid camera- it was known as "the brick". I can't refer you to a specific repair person, but the internet is full of information and videos about this camera. Google it, and I'm sure you'll find someone. There is lots of good film and processing available- you might have to use the mail, but it's available.
These cameras were a serious investment. With a good servicing and fresh film, they will give excellent results decades after they were made. Enjoy. unc
 
Look up "Ed Romney". He published do-it-yourself, brand specific, camera repair manuals and general camera repair manuals. I've got his general repair manual and the one for the C3. I have used the C3 manual twice and the general manual led me through fixing my SLRs. The C3 is a mechanically simple camera. If you get Romney"s C3 manual you can service the camera yourself.
