smartphone mount for old tractors?

I'm looking for something that will hold my smartphone and be versatile enough to clamp to most older tractors where I can see it.

I have this free app called Field Navigator which lets you map out fields and set parallel lines. It's pretty handy for simple jobs like spraying and spreading fertilizer, a lot better than guessing. The only downside is you need three hands.
 
Both dasH cam adapters, and motorcycle brackets are available. Put it where there is clear sight of it and where you are going at the same time.
and avoid places that vibrate radically. Using a smart phone that is not current might be less costly. Jim
 
Mount a cup holder somewhere handy, then get a cup holder cell phone mount. There are a zillion of them on Amazon.
 
I use a mount called a 'steelie'. It
consists on an adhesive magnet for the
phone and an adhesive steel ball for the
tractor. I mounted the ball on the JD 5303
because the dash and shroud are plastic.
On the older JD 1020, the magnet will
firmly grip the metal dash/hood.
Alsonholds to both CATs. I can confirm
that the grip.is strong enough to hold the
phone to the cab of a dodge doing 70 mph
[long story].
 
Do any of you get some sort of warning on the screen of your iPhone if exposed to direct sunlight for too long of a period??
Mine does. Like it is heating up. Not sure how critical the warning is. Just thought maybe if a similar situation would occur if mounted to an open console tractor.
 
All I can find are stupid suction cup mounts, stupid clip-on-the-dash-vent mounts, and stupid cup holder mounts.

Since my tractors don't have smooth surfaces for suction cups, dash vents, or cup holders, these won't work for me.

I literally cannot find anything but those types.
 
The thing about RAM is it's a mix and match system.
Decide how you want to attach to your vehicle, pick an
adapter for your device and select a connector to go
between the two. Very flexible.
