Another pressure washer question

What soap to use for general cleaning(tractors, trucks, etc.)? Shouldn?t I buy pressure washer soap or is there an alternative?

Different products for different jobs. For light cleaning use a mild low suds cleaner. NO Potassium Hydroxide! For heavy grease removal get a degreaser with potassium hydroxide. Note that heat helps a LOT! Note that time to penetrate helps a LOT. Avoid high suds products like dishwashing detergent. No need for flashy colors or names.

Does your pressure washer apply soap under pressure?

Or is it one that you have to pull the wand back so it just dispenses soap and low pressure water?

If it's the latter, I would not bother running soap through it. The soap residue tends to dry and gum things up.

Just as easy to spray it on with a pump bottle.

Just got a new unit( max output 3200psi). It has the different settings for pressure on the 'wand'. It also has a different attachment for applying detergent, a self contained part that has a reservoir for 'soap'. They recommend Dawn. HTH
