went to look at a 925F bean head came home with a Taurus tracker 17 HMR gave 400.00 for it, don't know what its worth. its a nice heavy pistol haven't shot it yet, does anyone else have one? what are they worth in clean good shape?

They sell new for $389 to $450 or so depending on options & location. They are an accurate revolver at 25 yards.

don't know about options, it has a ribed barrel and soft grips and its black. looks like there is no money to be made

I don't even bother looking at guns on auctions anymore. People go completely insane over them. They pay more for used guns than they could buy them new for. I don't understand because the auctioneers around here do the same paperwork as a dealer.

4010, same here on the paper work. payed to much for the gun didn't do my homework before I got it. had no ideal I was going to buy a gun when I went to the sale. got a used gun at new price

Enjoy it.17 hmr is quick. But clean barrel often or accuracy suffers.
You paid market price so its use it n keep or trade kinda revolver.make a nice truck gun though

Stonerock, It is the same as supermarkets and convenience stores, LOL. The milk and beer are at the back at a good price but you have to walk past lots of high priced goods to get there so you will buy things that you didn't plan on at inflated prices.

Around here I have seen ads for auctions with guns and they charge usually $20-$30 for doing the required background check if you buy a gun . I believe a Federal Firearm license dealer has to do the check. Then on top of that usually 10 percent buyers penalty. Most of the time people will bid guns up to what they are worth. So I agree with you it?s not likely to get a good deal on guns at an auction unless you are a collector and find one you want and cost isn?t an issue.

Stonerock: Look at it this way. You did not have to make a special trip to buy it so your even. LOL That is what I tell myself when I give market or above for some thing.

Everyone likes to get a deal- no doubt about that. On the other hand you must have liked the gun and now you own it and that's not bad and as someone said you didn't have to make a special trip. Just enjoy owning it and forget the $$.
